If you are home schooled, or a in a private school, you will need to enroll in your districts public high school. Home school or private school students: Must enroll through a local public high school and have a junior or senior standing. However, you do not need to attend classes in the public high school. It is the responsibility of the public high school to establish your grade placement. You must live in the State of Washington.

Mandatory fees, books and transportation are your responsibility to pay. You will be exposed to alternative viewpoints and material of an adult nature.

Be sure to have a copy of your class schedule so you can enter all of your course information. You can also take your schedule to the bookstore and find your books there. Some instructors have not posted their required textbooks and they will tell you what you will need the first day of class. Students eligible for free or reduced lunch at their high school and have turned in their eligibility form to the Running Start office get their books through the Running Start office begining the first day of the quarter.
Students then return their books to the Running Start office at the end of the quarter. Fees are not tuition and are based on the number of credits a student is taking.
The more credits the more fees. They are also based on the type of class a student is taking. Some classes have lab fees. Running Start does not pay for fees or tuition for classes below the college level. Students eligible for free or reduced lunch have their fees waived. Once you have paid your fees or had them waived if you are eligible for free or reduced lunch you may purchase your college ID.
