Ntfs permissions delete subfolders and files vs delete
As per the original post though I have tried applying these permissions, but the problem is that users cannot modify documents within these folders without Delete privileges. As I understand it the way Windows has been written means that when a user modifies a document the original document is actually deleted, then replaced by the updated version, rather than the original document being truly modified.
